- Used in the treatment of hypoglycemia which may be caused directly or indirectly from poisoning from certain drugs and toxic plants (Ackee (Blighia), Sneezeweed (Helenium), Sartwellia (Sartwellia), Periwinkle (Catharanthus), Castor Bean (Ricinus), Bitterweed and Rubberweed (Asteraceae), Balsam Apple and Pear (Momordica), Paperflowers (Psilostrophe), and Desert Marigold (Baileya).
