Coccidioides immitis is a diphasic and pleomorphic mold/fungus that causes coccidioidomycosis in horses. It is found most frequently in the soils of parts of North, South and Central America. In North America, it is most common in California, Arizona, Utah, Nevada, New Mexico and Texas.
