Influenza virus

Influenza virus is a type of orthomyxovirus from the Orthomyxoviridae family. It is an enveloped, single-stranded RNA virus that is the most commonly diagnosed and important cause of viral respiratory disease in horses worldwide.

Disinfection
Influenza virus can be inactivated using many types of disinfectants---including 1% bleach, quaternary ammonium, peroxygens, hydrogen peroxide, iodine-based, 70% ethanol, and phenolics.
