North Coast Veterinary Hospital


North Coast Veterinary Hospital (NCVH) is located on the beautiful Pacific North Coast in the heart of the redwoods. They have two facilities in Arcata and Fortuna, California and also provide ambulatory and emergency services to patients throughout Humboldt, Del Norte, and Trinity Counties. NCVH provides a wide range of medical, surgical, diagnostic and preventive care services to horses and other livestock.

Office Hours: Mon-Fri 8am-5pm, Sat 8am-1pm
Bruce C. Carlisle , DVM
Dr. Bruce Carlisle was raised near Petaluma, CA. and currently resides with his wife in Fortuna. He graduated from U.C. Davis, School of Veterinary Medicine in 1980. He practiced in Humboldt County for 11 years before becoming a partner at NCVH in 1994. Dr. Carlisle is a member of the AVMA, CVMA, AAEP, and BCHA and particularly enjoys investigating equine lameness issues. In his free time he takes pleasure in hunting, abalone diving, canoeing, riding his mules and packing into backcountry wilderness areas.
Robert L. Branch , DVM
Dr. Bob Branch, originally from Yreka, CA. now lives in Blue Lake. He graduated from U.C. Davis, School of Veterinary Medicine in 1990. Dr. Branch specializes in the health and treatment of horses and livestock. With his strong rural background, he has a full understanding of the challenges our area faces. He is a member of the AVMA, CVMA, AAEP, CCA and BCHA. He actively supports 4-H & FFA as well as many other local horse and cattle events. Dr. Bob enjoys reading, playing cards, riding his horses, snow skiing and water sports.
