Peterson and Smith Equine Hospital, located in Ocala, Florida, was founded in 1981 by Dr. John Peterson and Dr. Johnny Mac Smith. The practice provides medical, surgical, and reproductive services. They also provide lameness evaluations and pre-purchase exams through their Sports Medicine Center consisting of a 12-stall barn, and is equipped with a state-of-the-art nuclear scintigraphy unit (bone scanner) and over-ground endoscopy. The hospital has an in-house laboratory and pharmacy. The doctors provide ambulatory services on the farm as well as make in-house appointments at their facility.
