Dr. MacDonald was born and raised in 'the great white north' (Canada). He obtained a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Guelph and his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the Ontario Veterinary College university of Guelph. Following a one-year internship at Okotooks animal clinic in Alberta he completed a residency in large animal surgery and a masters of veterinary science at the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. He became a diplomate of the American college of veterinary surgeons in 1997 and has been a staff surgeon at Pioneer Equine Hospital since December 2000. Dave's focus at Pioneer is surgery and lameness.
